Official Press Release:

“Two Well-Known LA Graffiti Artisits Collaborate In An Unexpected Synthesis”

CACHE and AISEborn (ArtIsSelfExpression) have painted murals all over the city. Although the two differ more than stylistically, their collaboration reveals a commonality that goes beyond the human barriers and into the realms of spirit.

OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, December 9, 2017 6pm – 10pm

The artists known as Cache and AiseBorn will show a series of collaborative works in a show aptly titled, Synthesis. Cache’s playful and colorful chicken murals can be spotted on nearly every street corner around the city, while AiseBorn’s massive and impressive mandalas reside in the streets as well as museums.

At first glance, no one would guess two artists would find a common ground artistically. Cache’s cartoon-like characters come in bright, geometric, playful forms, while AiseBorn works with intricate brush strokes and realistic imagery. It was an unexpected yet organically natural union when these two found themselves sharing a mural space after an introduction by their mutual friend, another well-known graffiti artist, Atlas.
“When we come together, we influence each other in unexpected ways. AiseBorn’s work pushes me to flex my other styles; playing with futuristic linear forms and light and shadows.”, says Cache

The show will take place at TONALLI STUDIO in East Los Angeles or “Old Town Maravilla”, a gallery space owned and operated by long time residents and artists, Ofelia Esparza and her daughter Rosanna Esparza Ahrens. Cache and AiseBorn were drawn to the space because of its focus on wellness and community. For the first time, the two artist collaborative works will come together in a new formation on gallery walls. Synthesis will be on exhibit until January 6, 2018.

Recap of AiseBorn’s First Solo Exhibit “Worth The Weight”

On September 22, 2016 AiseBorn exhibited his first solo art show “Worth the Weight” at The Container Yard located at 800 E. 4th. Street, Los Angeles, CA. 90013. The show will be up until October 20, 2016, do not sleep on this and go check it out. It was an intimated gathering of friends, Graffiti crew members and supporters of a promising bright future for this young and talented artist AiseBorn, curated by Lester Grant of The Grant Collections.

First of all I would like to thank my dear friend King Cre8 for bringing me along to this exclusive night in Downtown Los Angeles, the West Coast is the Best Coast! I have actually been invited to the infamous The Container Yard several times, still haven’t had the chance to go check out their art space, but for this night I just had to get out and support AiseBourn. I have heard so many great things about his work and his humbling approach to Street Art and Culture; you all know how I feel about artists that carry themselves this way. Nothing but love and admiration for artists that keep the true essence of utilizing art as a form of communication, educating the masses and having the ability to gather up a diverse community to speak on not only the aesthetics of Art but also addressing social and political issues that are affecting us a whole. And that is exactly what AiseBorn did on Thursday, September 22, 2016 “Worth the Weight”. Such a surreal feeling as I entered the venue, filled with such beautiful people and the layout of the exhibit invited you into a timeline of works from a more Contemporary Art perspective and as the public walked deeper into the exhibit, one can see how his works become more complex, enriched with his African Roots with a combination of American social/culture/political influence and stunningly captured portraiture, really shed light to the skills Aiseborn has, not only in Graffiti, or calligraphy painting but as a well-rounded talented young artist. I think this is one of the high points of such a successful First solo art exhibit, he took us on a journey of various stages in his career, and one can see the development of his Art throughout the time frame of works.  One can say it was a mixture of a romanticized Baroque influences and traditional calligraphy with a strong presence of Golds which reminded me of the Masterpieces in the history of Art in Renaissance but with a blend of Street Art Culture, such a sight to see! Aside to solo works, he also collaborated with Kofie UTI and Cache, there was a wide variety of subject matters for all different types of tastes in Art. A large mural production wrapped half the venue space, and it was obviously the main focal point as you entered the venue and from any point one was standing, such a breathtaking execution of letters and colors.

“I look at them [paintings] as gold. Gold is not a light material, it’s a heavy one. There was a time when people would only pay for things based on weight. There are a lot of people (my supporters) that have been waiting to see this show come to be. Now that it is happening, it’s worth everything,” AiseBorn.

One of the best moments I enjoyed, was the genuine love and support from his peers, especially those like Cre8, Toons, Swan and others who have seen him grow as an artist from an early age. They kept mentioning on how he had disappeared for a while and now completely understand and appreciate what he had been doing with his time. This was expressed by several people throughout the night which makes sense of the title “Worth the Weight”. Apparently, this show was a long wait for many of his supporters and his UTI Graffiti Crew extended family, I will tag along with you all and agree “IT WAS WORTH THE WEIGHT”

And of course the ambient could not be any better & enjoy the rich conversations from the older Graff writers in the place, big shout out to THANKS, his lovely wife BRITTNEY JONES, SWAN, CRE8, TOONS, GYLT, STROE, JOHNTAY and everybody coming out to support AiseBorn’s first solo art exhibit “Worth the Weight” We cannot wait to see what future holds for this amazingly talented and humble man, we are all proud of you here in the Big West Coast!

GO CHECK OUT HIS WORK AT THE CONTAINER YARD!
